With something as common and basic as a computer mouse, it's hard to imagine that there is more than one type. Various types of computer mice are available. Aside from the different types of computer mice (or mice), some are more commonly seen, like the generic cord mouse or the old-fashioned ball mouse. However, there are a few curveball designs, all of which can be seen below: Common Types of a computer mouse: You can connect that to your PC via USB and this mouse is what you're used to seeing. This mouse doesn't have anything particularly wrong with it, but it isn't impressive either. This type of mouse has one advantage, though: it doesn't require a battery, so it will never run out of juice! You should get this mouse if you need a very basic and reliable mouse. 2) Wireless Mouse Wireless mice are the same as their predecessors, except they don't have a tail. Wireless is exactly what it says on the tin. A wireless keyboard and mouse that uses radio waves to communicate with your computer requires a battery and can be connected by USB. Either 2.4GHz wireless or Bluetooth is used for these devices. 3) Mechanical MouseComputer hardware input devices comprised of metal or rubber balls under the surface are known as a mechanical mouse. Whenever you move the mouse, the ball rolls and sensors in the mouse detect the movement of the ball and accordingly send a signal to the cursor on the screen. Ball mice are also known as mechanical mice. The mechanical mouse is one of the first mice to be used with a computer was this one. Rubber balls tracked motion - the ball would spin in any direction the mouse moved, and a sensor detected the movement to determine how the cursor moved. A lot of people rarely use this mouse anymore due to its age. 4) Small MouseGaming mice don't come much smaller and lighter than the Viper Mini. With its programmable buttons, excellent performance, excellent accuracy, and low cost, this is the perfect tool for both left and right-handers. In addition to the lighting, this stands out! Wireless, cheap, and surprisingly small! You don't have to struggle to find a mouse that's small and lightweight. If you're short on space or want something ultra-portable, the Logitech Wireless Mini Mouse is a perfect choice. There is a small, well-made, affordable model, made by a respected brand. 5) Wheel/Scroll MouseThere are many types of wheel mice, including wireless, optical, and wired. Wheel refers to the tiny wheel attached between the left and right-click buttons, which enables you to scroll up and down pages without having to manually use the scroll bar on the side of the page. Test your mouse scroll capacity with 100 meter scroll test. 6) Optical MouseModern computers usually come with one of these types of mice. The old rubber ball in a mechanical mouse is replaced by an LED light at the bottom of the device. LEDs detect movement by detecting reflected light. As a result, the mouse doesn't work perfectly on all surfaces; clear plastic and glass surfaces are ineffective. 7) Laser Mouse Similar to an optical mouse, this works similarly. The light is not generated by an LED, but by a laser beam which reflects light from the surface. Glass and plastic can be used with this mouse, but it does not provide as much accuracy as an optical mouse. 8) BlueTrack MouseWith its proprietary BlueTrack technology, the mouse accurately detects movement on all types of surfaces by combining an image sensor and pixel geometry. With this mouse, you can easily work on carpets as well. 9) TouchpadLaptops are most commonly equipped with these. A glide pad is a flat surface that a finger needs to glide over to control the cursor. Some touchpads are pressure-sensitive and can be pressed by tapping the flat surface even though they generally have two buttons. Specially designed mouse Types |
